ABOUT OUR MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
While the goal of the RBAC is to revitalize the small businesses and local economies and help it recover from Covid, it is also a chance to foster increased engagement between the students and the alumni community. Alumni would be able to mentor student interns, and participate in brown bag talks the RBAC offers on specific topics. Students, through alumni mentors, would be able to tap into their vast knowledge of the business world and gain an increased understanding of what it takes to succeed in the ever changing business world. Through a minimal time commitment, mentors would be able to impact both the local community and the next generation of Colgate graduates.
The commitment on the alumni mentor is minimal; alumni can choose to participate in brown bag talks, mentor students who reach out to them, or more. These programs allow students to reach out to alumni not only for advice about their internship, but to learn more about career paths and best practices.
After the completion of internships, it is our hope that students and the connections they made with alumni will continue to grow. One of the most valuable aspects of the Colgate experience is the vast and outgoing alumni network that continually demonstrates its dedication to both the school and fellow graduates. Colgate alums are known for being one of the most active, engaged, and helpful alumni groups out there. By creating meaningful connections between alumni and students now, we can increase student exposure and engagement with alumni, while ensuring alumni remain connected to the Colgate community and future graduates.
